This year I planned a sports party. I put so much effort and thought into this party I think it was crazy. BUT I would totally do it again! I really had a great time planning this party... I really put a lot of detail into it from the invitation to the decorations (with a little help from Auntie Brandi and Auntie Lacy) to the party favor bags!
This was the invitation that I made, even the ticket was able to be folded an wriped off! I also included a parking pass in the shape of a mirror hang with directions to the party. As a part of the decorations my best friend Lacy has a new business... balloon decorating! So of course I had to include this in our special event!!! (plus it helped that she wanted to do it to expand her portfolio) So Auntie Lacy made some special balloon towers for our special little man. I loved these!
The best part of setting up for the party was transporting the balloons home! Ry, Brandi and I had the darnedest time figuring this out... but of course we made the most of it and had the BEST laugh! We showed up at Lacy's and thought our van would fit everything... maybe it would have IF there were NOT 3 of us! Well, Brandi being the sport that she is, really helped out. Can you find her in these pictures? All 4 of us were literally laughing our butts off!
Here are the balloons after transportation ~ YES they survived!
Like I said, I put a lot of detail into my little man's party, here are some of the other decorations that I did:
The rest of the pictures are of the decorations... basically I took all 4 sports from the party (basketball, football, baseball & soccer) and printed tons of pictures and randomly placed them everywhere in the house. We had flags all around and bases (including "Home Plate" at the front door). I even had a line of cotton candy for the kiddos (total bonus!)
Games for the kiddos included 4 "stations" one for each sport. For the basketball station we set up Logan's basketball hoop and the kids had to make a basket. For the football station they had to throw (or just hit) a hoop in a tree with a football. For the baseball station I purchased a tee ball set that they had to hit the baseball. And lastly, for the soccer station we purchased a soccer goal net (since this summer Logan will be starting soccer and can use it to practice) and they had to kick the ball into the goal around the cones. After each completed station each kiddo got that respective sticker for that sport. Once they had collected all 4 sports they "turned in" for their goodie bags. Each goodie bag had a boo-boo buddy, a pencil, candy egg, whistle and each one was of one of the sports, 4 items = all 4 sports. These games really went over well!
For food, I planned all food types that you actually get at sports stadiums... we had hot dogs, chips and nachos (I also included fruit, veggies and some other dips).
This was just the set up for the party... the actual party was a blast!
All that hard work ~ paid off! Looks really, really great! What a fun sports birthday ! Baloons turned out awesome.. how funny are those photos with them stuffed in the car! LOL! All decor was fun and your creativity was indeed the ball out of the park HOMERUN!
