Simple Reflections

Lately, mainly due to being pregnant I am EXTREMELY emotional... more than I ever have been before with pregnancy. Its really annoying because I get teary for the dumbest things! But today while briefly looking at Facebook and while reading my daily parenting tip from Parents.com these 2 topics really touched me to my core. They are simple and sweet but have a huge impact on me as a parent. I am going to try to take them for exactly what they are worth!

This was posted on Facebook from a friend:
There comes a point in life when "FUN" no longer means clubbing, drinking, being out until 4am, or thinking about yourself first... Fun means Disney movies, family dinners, bedtime stories, long cuddles, asleep by 10am only to be woken up an hour later by someone needing a bottle or because of a bad dream, and its hearing little voices say "I love you." Becoming a parent doesn't change you, it makes you realize the little people that YOU created deserve the very best of your time!

This was on Parents.com:
Life Lessons From A Toddler ~
  1. Have patience ~ Don't Give Up! If you can't figure it out the first time, keep working at it, try, try again! Patience is everything. Be grateful for every little thing, even the tantrums because everything and every day is a blessing.
  2. Imperfections is Okay!
  3. Always have prospective
  4. Don't judge other parents ~ Never judge anyone else's parenting style, especially in public situations: kids are loud, smelly, and even the best parents have to handle tantrums and meltdowns. We should be humbled by our children and remember they are like wild animals and unpredictable.
  5. Don't hide your feelings ~ When we hold our feelings in we teach our children to do the same, its ok to cry every once in awhile or to be angry too.
  6. Always set a good example ~ We need to be a reflection of what we want our children to be. They see everything. WE are their biggest influence, if we are patient, kind, good-tempered, and happy , then they will be too!
  7. Love is all you need ~ Our children love us no matter what, we are their first loves. They can teach us that love at first sight is possible. A child's heart is so big, ours should be too!
  8. Always enjoy life ~ Instead of complaining about a rainy day, go out and jump in the puddles! Dr. Seuss was by far the smartest philosopher on the planet: he teaches us to lighten up and stop taking ourselves too seriously.
These really touched me this morning and I thought it was only right to share!

Being a parent has by far been the best "gift" I have ever been given, it is my calling I love every single second that I get to be called "Mommy, Mama, Mom!"
