Mr. T's 5th birthday party ~ Ahoy Mateys!

Just writing the title... 5th birthday brings me to tears! My son, my baby boy, the one I prayed for, waited for and planned for is 5! It literally feels like yesterday we were announcing his birth!

F-I-V-E!!!!!

So this year was a little hard for me... I wanted to do something special for our little man, partly because I always do and because its a BIG birthday! I say it was hard for a couple of reasons, its bittersweet that my baby is no longer even considered CLOSE to a baby, he isn't even a toddler he is a full-fledged KID!! But then on top of that I am 37 weeks preggo... can we say HARD and STRESSFUL!! Because those of you who know me know what I like to do for my kiddo's parties and of course this year is no different! This year nothing, I repeat, NOTHING went as planned! Wind was horrible and tore down decorations; food wasn't exactly what I wanted (although turned out great); friends that thought they were going to be there couldn't (those of you who this is and are reading this I mean NO offense, you all had valid reasons and I understand); Nana wasn't there for the very first time; Grandma wasn't there for the very first time; and to top it off, Mr. T started out the day by being the biggest brat possible!

Anyways here are the custom items I did this year ~

The only difference, boys get red bags and girls get brown bags (and the skull and crossbones had a bow on it). There was all kinds of pirate stuff inside like eye patches, pirate swords, sucker, pirate money, compass, bead necklaces (girls), telescopes and some other stuff. There was a difference in the goodies inside the girl and boy bags (I tried to give girly items to the girls and boyish items to the boys). Either way I think it went over well!

This year I again hired my friend Alex of Alexandra Kate Cakes to make the cake. Seriously this was $45 well spent!!!

Check her out on facebook ~ Alexandra Kate Cakes on Facebook I did add the pirate sail and the beads. Logan requested strawberry cake with chocolate frosting. I love her cakes, they are so moist! Some people didn't like the frosting but I thought overall it was amazing! Seriously if you are local and looking for a very reasonable price and amazing cake please go to her!

Sadly, he wanted to breeze through the presents because he was "looking" for a certain toy he knew he was getting. I MADE him open that one last... but because of that he didn't even open our present because he didn't care. Oh! Well! The mind of a 5 year old!

My favorite... I made him say thank you and give hugs to everyone and he saved this special hug for me for everything I did for his party! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!!
