WARNING LONG LONG LONG POST!!!
I cannot believe it! My baby girl is 18 months old... ALREADY!! It seems as though just yesterday I was holding this precious lil' girl in my arms for the very first time! It's crazy how quickly time flys, now she is 18 months and she is going to be a BIG sister!
She is such a sweet little girl, she pretty much always has a smile on her face and will talk your ear off if you let her! Her personality is so sweet and crazy at the same time, she can one minute be as sweet as possible and the very next minute be yelling at you!
It has been 6 months since I have posted my monthly post about her and that was for a reason... even though each and every month is precious with BOTH of my children from now on I will only post big milestones of each kiddo, and since 18 months IS a big one here you go ~ at 18 months old Peanut can/is doing the following:
- She is extremely independent!
- She is very impatient!
- She can be very affectionate! She has a sweet heart (already seeing this in her)
- She weighs 22 lbs 8 oz (40% for her age)
- She is 31.5 inches tall (40% for her age)
- She is in size 3 diapers... STILL (she was in this size at 11 months)
- She is wearing 18 month clothing and sometimes fits into 24 months
- She helps us get her dressed, when she feels like it... sometimes she still fights us.
- She has most of her teeth now, some molars need to still come in but she has a full mouth of pearly whites and flashes them with a grin all.the.time!
- I am happy to report since her ear surgery in June she has NOT had another ear infection! And just today she had a follow-up from that with Dr. Strasser. His report: tubes are still in and doing their job... she even passed her hearing test today! Everything looks great!
- I cannot tell you how many words she has... there is way too many! She sometimes is hard to understand because SHE knows what she is saying but unless you are around her all the time you might not but most everything comes out pretty clear. She is putting together 2 word sentences such as "In there" and "Don't want it" (ok that is a 3 word one but you get the point). Even if she cannot speak certain words she understands almost everything! Its nice! And she really tries to have conversations with you... sometimes she gets frustrated because she knows but cannot get her point across.
- Almost everything can become a phone and she gabs on it.
- She only eats big people food... ALL THE TIME hasn't touched baby food in seriously like 7 months. Right now her absolute favorite snack is fruit! She loves it (I cannot complain).

| Chili night! |
- She no longer drinks from a bottle ~ we transitioned within the last month or so and at first it was hard BUT it has helped with the middle of the night/early morning bottle: she gets mad at me when I give her a sippy in the middle of the night/morning and doesn't even drink it. This has also helped with the nighttime bottle ~ she basically doesn't want a sippy right before bed (sometimes she does) so she doesn't drink anything and we have had more nights that not of her sleeping through most of the night (that or she will wake up long enough for one of us to cover her up with a blanket and go back to sleep)
- She mastered walking and now runs... EVERYWHERE; sometimes I think she would rather run than walk.
- Her hair is blond! You would never guess that this lil' peanut was born with almost black hair! Her hair is almost long enough to put into a real pony tail (and believe me I have done it a couple of times) but it falls out pretty easy. She has recently started letting me actually "do" her hair (which I LOVE) today she has a lil' barrette in her hair SUPER CUTE!!! Most of the time when I want to do her hair I have to distract her somehow but we get it done... its a work in progress.

| One if the 1st times she had piggy tails! So precious |
- Her eyes are still bright blue... and so beautiful! We get complimented most on her (and Mr. T's) eyes
- She LOVES LOVES LOVES to sing and dance to music. This kid LOVES music! Anything with any sort of beat she will figure out how to dance or sing to it!
- She can be very opinionated and isn't afraid to say something if she doesn't like it ~ we recently have been dealing with the "hitting stage" when she doesn't like something
- She understands when she hurts someone... usually this is brother and when he starts to cry or get upset she will stop what she is doing and say awe and try to give him a hug and kiss.
- She gives the BEST hugs and kisses. Just this morning she was hugging my leg and kissing me for no reason at all... it was so perfect!
- She sort of understands that there is a baby in mommy's tummy... sort of! I say that because you ask her where mommy's baby is and she will first point to her tummy then to mine. And just yesterday when daddy was changing shirts she pointed and patted on his tummy and said baby LOL!!
- A couple of months ago we got her a special potty. Recently she has started to say "peepee" when she goes in her diaper so she has started to get the concept. Every time we go (well myself and my mom) into the bathroom she has to go with us and sit on her potty and if I am in my bathroom she wants to sit on my lap... HOPEFULLY soon we will actually start potty training... hopefully!
- She LOVES to brush her teeth! SERIOUSLY! She loves it and whenever she comes into either bathroom she says "teeth" and will NOT stop until you give her the toothbrush and let her brush them. I bet if we allowed it she would brush her teeth 100 times a day!
 |
| Toothbrush as one of her Christmas presents... of which she would not let go of! |
- She loves Elmo and goes crazy over him and Abby Cadabby. She watches it every single day.
- In September she was our Ninja (Mr. T's soccer team name) In Training and actually tried numerous times to play... she can kick the ball around
- In the last 6 months she has celebrated: 4th of July where she wasn't afraid of the fireworks (Mr. T was); Halloween where she was a lil' devil but oh so cute and a kitty cat; Thanksgiving where she ate like crazy; Christmas where she was too overwhelmed! She met Santa for what will be the first she will remember this year and was quite afraid of him (to be expected) but now sees pics of him and says "Santa" so she recognizes him.

 |
| Thanksgiving ~ this is ONE happy lil' girl (with a mashed potato smile) |
 |
| This was the 1st time she met Santa this year... the next wasn't so pleasant! |
- She still very much loves her blankies (of which she affectionately calls DeeDee ~ do not know why).
- Since July she has been released from PT and is in perfect, normal progression for her age (as if she was NEVER in PT)
- Since July she has not been with our beloved sitter, Mary... instead she has been every day with Nana!! And she loves it! Although we miss Mary dearly this has been a great change for her and us (and probably mostly Nana).
- She loves shoes and she knows exactly where they go.
- She knows her body parts: eyes, head, nose, mouth, teeth, ears (sometimes to be confused with eyes ~ working on this one), arm, tummy, leg, foot (usually says feet), peepee (yes we taught this to her and told her it is HERS and no one else's ~ she actually doesn't even like her diaper changed because she says mine when we change her), neck, bootie (and this one is the BEST because when you ask her where her bootie is she shakes her bum ~ so cute)
- With a little encouragement she is learning her numbers... right now she can count to 3 which is a start!
- She loves to play with brother (and his toys) they even play light sabers almost daily
 |
| Christmas morning light saber dual! |
- She loves kitties and will stop everything to say "kitty awe" where she will put her hand under her chin and say that! Its so cute! And thankfully our cats (especially Daisy) will put up with everything from her! Actually she is pretty gentile with them.
- Every time I pull out my camera she gives the biggest tooth-eating grin and says "cheeeeeese" guess she gets the point!
 |
| She is seeing cheeeessseee here! |
- She goes back and forth being a mommy's girl and a daddy's girl but she is always a Nana's (and brother's) girl!
- The BIGGEST thing in the last 6 months is she is going to be a big sister!!! Baby girl Tyson will be here in April and we are excited (and secretly I am nervous because she is still really young and I hope there is no jealousy... only time will tell!)
There are probably many more things that I have forgotten... she is such a little person nowadays! But these are most of the things she is doing over the last 6 months... she is grown and learning more every day. She is such a joy to be around! She is truly a blessing and has enriched our lives even more ~
Pictures, Pictures, Pictures! Here are some pictures (not all) over the last 6 months (starting at 13 months):
