Health update on Princess Peanut

Ok... not to scare anyone... she is perfectly healthy! And in my oopinion ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!

We went to her 2 month check up on Monday and all is well, she is a very healthy 10 lbs 8 oz and 22 inches long... and growing perfectly!

Peanut got her shots which she HATED! She went on and on crying because she was not a happy peanut! Bubba cried for her and really tried to convince the nurse NOT to poke his sister (sorry little man, she needs them). So yeah, she cried and he cried for her! So cute!

Now for the not so good news...
Peanut has a condition called plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) as well as torticollis (which is a stiff neck or "wry neck"). BUT I must say both of these are only slightly! I started noticing about a month ago she was starting to develop a flat spot on the back of her head on the left side... I mentioned something to Ry and he said it was ok BUT it really bothered me so I kept a close eye. It continued to bother me but I knew her 2 month apointment was coming up so I told myself to say something Dr. Sipes when we saw her. I of course mentioned something on Monday but Dr. Sipes noticed that Peanut was favoring her left side right away. So she checked her out a little more and made a recommendation for Peanut to see a physical therapist.

So we waited... and surprisingly did not wait that long, Peanut had her 1st PT session yesterday! I am surprised it was that quickly and surprised even more that our thearapist comes to us!

Well, after yesterday we know that Peanut's condition is a little worse than we originally thought BUT not that bad! We caught it REALLY early (I mean seriously Peanut is only 10 weeks old ~ typically they aren't caught until afte 6 months, plus our thearapist said Peanut is one of the youngest she has ever had). Yeah for mommy! Mommy and Daddy (Peanut too) have homework, we must do 2 different stretches every diaper change, 2-3 times each. Peanut has to have limited time in her swing and bouncer (big bummer!) and she has to have more tummy time. Also (and I am not happy about this one) she cannot sleep on her back, she has to sleep on her right side ~ now I am only not happy about this one because all studies right now show that putting the baby on the back is best, so I have followed this recommendation so this scares me a little. But we are ready and willing to do all of these things for our little Peanut, Mimi is helping as well. And we have already sceen progress and its only been one day!!! Ok so I am a little bias, but she was turning to her right more than she has this morning.
