Thanksgiving Weekend and FUN in Vegas!

Well, this Thanksgiving we went to Vegas! It was nice... we haven't been with that side of the family for Thanksgiving since Bubba's first Thanksgiving. To us it was bittersweet being Peanut's first!

Well, as always our time in Vegas was PACKED! Packed with family and friends which leaves little time for us... but that is ok because the point to going there is to see all of these people we typically do not.

First was Thanksgiving day... need I say more?
 Bubba being Bubba!

This happens to be the ONLY picture of me on Thanksgiving

The next day we went to visit with my Uncles (my Dad's twin brother and Uncle Danny)... my Papa (my dad's dad was in from SC and this was the first in 5 years we have seen him ~ 3 for my Uncles); this was a very nice visit. I got to visit with Papa and hear stories from the 1940s from when he was in the Navy and when he and my Nana met. So interesting!

Then the next day we were off to see our good friends the Nortons! (Ry's best friend Chris and his fam) We first met for breakfast (Ry's favorite meal) at one of our old hangouts... the Cracked Egg! Then off to the Exploration park in Mountain's Edge; lastly off to their home for some more play!
Bubba up on the rocks ~ this one made me uneasy because he was kinda far up
Pose for a pic in a clay pot
Peanut didn't really explore... she slept
Blake will you slide down with me?
Back to the pot for another pic... these boys are HAMS!

We were supposed to go over to Ry's cousin's house to see it (she just purchased a new home and Ry hasn't seen it) and her new puppy but Ry got sick all of a sudden. So we stayed home and Ry slept and I watched a GREAT movie... Dear John.

Then we hurried home to beat the storms... it started snowing when my sis dropped Caster at home so we decided to leave at our normal time (despite the fact the new bypass bridge was open). It snowed a couple of spots along the way home.

Speaking of the bypass... YES it is OPEN! Again something bittersweet for Ry and I... we have seen this progress from nothing to this MASSIVE bridge! The entire length of our relationship (dating until now) they have been working on this. So for us this is something that is a part of us... almost as the Hoover Dam is to those families who's fathers, uncles and grandfathers worked on the dam itself! Well, it is open and it cuts the drive down by at least an hour! It is smooth sailing... you almost don't even realize you are on it! Kind of disappointing but great nonetheless. But as we were driving on it coming home on Sunday we realized that they have a visitors center that you can go out on to the bridge... something we ARE doing the next time we go there!

Well that was a great holiday... now the REAL countdown begins. CHRISTMAS IN DISNEYLAND!!! Cannot wait! 26 days and counting!
