So instead of giving in, we have established a new house rule... you SIT there until you have eaten everything off of your plate. And if you mess around until bedtime you go straight to bed instead of watching TV and playing with toys!
These are from the other night when we instilled this rule... he literally sat there for an hour! Then he tried to feed his chicken strips (yes! we all know he likes those BUT would not eat them this particular night) to the dog... so I gave him MORE! Then he tried to wrap it up in his napkin (awe I remember doing that); he tried it all. Finally I gave in and let him get up but NOT to go watch TV but to go to bed!
