Good bye Evie!

So a week ago I posted that we had gotten a new family member, Evie. Well we sadly (and thankfully) got rid of her. She was super sweet and had the potential of being a great family member; however not for this family!

Sadly this weekend Evie and Caster got into 2 significant fights: we are talking bloody fights. The first was provoked by Caster. I whole heartedly believe he started it because he was trying to tell her the "rules of the house" this one started because Bubba, Daddy and dogs were playing and as usual when Bubba gets involved Caster backs off; Evie did not and Caster growled at her. She wasn't having that and went after him. That was Saturday. After this incident she was really being sweet to both us as well as Caster, almost as if she was saying sorry. Then Sunday... started off wonderful, playing and just being great. Our neighbor had complained that the dogs would not stop barking all week during the day so of course we tried to be good neighbors and actually take care of it. I went and purchased dog barking collars. Both were wearing them. Caster did his normal routine of barking at people passing by but got zapped (or whatever) by the collar and Evie attacked him when he yelped. While trying to break up the fight (not with my hands) I was reaching for Caster and kicking Evie she turned and bit me. She would not let go of Caster and poor boy was hurt.

So after 1 ER visit for me and 1 vet visit for Caster we are both on antibiotics and pain meds; both of us will be just fine. BUT we cannot and WILL NOT have this type of behavior so our new family member is no longer apart of this family :(

Unfortunate but necessary. Got to protect our current family members and I don't want that around our kids and don't want our amazing Caster to have to endure that.
