Star Wars Birthday Bash! PART 1 (Decorations & details ONLY)

This past weekend we celebrated Bubba's 4th birthday with none other than STAR WARS!

I had so much fun planning this party. Leave it to me to change the theme of the party AFTER I had already done everything for the other theme (oh well, at least we have next year's party done ~ YES we will use that theme). I changed the theme from a Pirate Party in December after we had gone to Disneyland and Bubba had so much fun participating in the Jedi Training Academy. Thus the plan was hatched! And it only made sense... this family (meaning Daddy and Bubba) is all about Star Wars!

You guessed it, we had a Jedi Training Party! Even Daddy got into the party... played none other than Darth Vader. Danielle got into the action as well as the trainer! Our friend Jay played the Emperor; Eli and Aidan played clone troopers. My mom made 16, YES 16 Jedi robes (actually she made 18, one for little Peanut and an extra for Bubba)! (She did AWESOME, everyone LOVED them; she also made Emperor's robe). And well I, well I did everything else! LOL I actually ended up training the kiddos as well.

So as always I go WAY out! I love party planning! And this theme we actually spent more money (and way more time) than I should have BUT (here is my justification) some of the decorations I made nicer than I would usually because we put those in his room and the Darth Vader costume I spent extra money on because Ry will use it for Halloween. I also spent MONTHS planning and I am SO SO SO pleased! But I also think we did it because this is a theme that is close to our hearts so whatever... its done and it was AWESOME!!!!

So for this post it is only of the invitation and all of the decorations & details of the party ~ I actually don't have any pictures from the party itself because well... I was too damn busy! BUT my friend Joan and Chariese came and took pictures. Joan took them for me and Chariese took them to show how we work together (post on that later... just know I am venturing into a business with 4 other ladies for a party/event bash).

I put SO much work into this party (probably more than I ever have before). Everything had a lot of detail! I of course made the invitations, banner (which both of these in my opinion are my best work), I also made food labels (tents) BUT I also had themed food (all of which are Bubba's favorite foods)! We had Rebel Sandwiches (PB&J ~ for kids, egg salad & tuna); Endor fruit (obvious); Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru's Veggies (obvious), Wookie Cookies (I was going to do oatmeal raisin but Bubba wanted chocolate chip); Hans Carbonite (grape jello with Hans Solo inside it); Tie Fighter Snacks (gram crackers & marshmallows stuck with peanut butter); Death Sticks (Cheetos); Death Star Donuts (glazed donut holes); AND Jedi Juice (apple juice); Yoda Soda (now for this one I have seen people do something green but I wanted to do something people would actually like so we did Ice Tea, and it wasn't green); Droid Fuel (bottled water). I was also going to do Light Sabers (chocolate (colored) dipped pretzel rods) BUT I didn't have time and figured I had enough sweets. We also ended up having deviled eggs (left over from egg salad) and cheese and crackers but these didn't have fun names (mainly because they were afterthoughts... I thought I wasn't going to have enough food). I also made custom labels for the plates and cups (mainly because I didn't want to spend the extra $$ on Star Wars plates and cups but also because I wanted something specific); I took the format for Episode 4 (IV: A New Hope) cover logo and made my own for Logan (see below) I wasn't able to put them on the plates because I didn't make enough). Then of course we had the Jedi training; Danielle was the trainer (but I seriously think she got overwhelmed by the amount of kids ~ I had to step in and do the training). My Mom is AWESOME! And she made all of the kids Jedi robes as well as the Emperor robe and the trainer costume.

I wanted the kids to work for the rest of their party favor so they had to complete a task list which included completing a Jedi Scavenger Hunt, Light Saber Selection, Completing the Jedi Training, Light Saber Duel with Darth Vader (which scared some of the kids... but Ry did an AMAZING job ~ he really got into it), then the last: Party with Logan and other Padawans (including having cake). ~ See pictures of the Task List & Scavenger Hunt "map" below ~

I also want to make a special THANK YOU to my mom for ALL of her help with this party... she not only did the robes but also helped me make food and put decorations out and then took both kids day of party so we could finish everything up. Also thanks to Ry's mom for helping to make sandwiches!

NEXT ON MY AGENDA: mascot costume (maybe) for a little boy's brother on the T-ball team (at the request of other moms... DAMN me being crafty); Flyer & portfolio of work for business venture; Peanut's 1st birthday planning! OMG!! Dedication invitations (doing both separate, even though on same day ~ gotta give her a special event as well); possible wedding invitations for someone... I HAVE GOT MY WORK CUT OUT FOR ME!
