HAPPY 85th BIRTHDAY ~ Herman (Gramps) Brinkmeyer

This is a couple of days late, I am sorry but we have been busy (read on and you will understand why ~ plus on Saturday we had our annual Tyson family pictures taken by RED Photography).

First, I must start this post with the past... 85 years (short or long depending on which way you look at it) ago on May 12, 1926 a wonderful man was brought into this world, born in Prescott, AZ to Emily and Herman Brinkmeyer.

Now fast forward to present day... Gramps is to me he is a very important part of my life... if it weren't for him I would not have my family; there would be no Peanut and no Bubba and no Ry. And because they are the light of my life I MUST say thank you to Mr. Herman and Mrs. Emily Brinkmeyer for having Gramps only 85 years ago!

So for this very important birthday we, the family here (we were missing a bunch but the few that were able to be here) first went to dinner on Thursday (his actual birthday) at the Prescott Pine Cone Inn (Gramps wanted to go dancing). Dinner and company was AWESOME! Thankfully my mom watched the kiddos for us since it was an adult-only atmosphere.

Then we had a party for Gramps... of course I did the banner (Mom and Nin asked me, of course I was going to do it... BUT for the amount of time I had I must say I am impressed with how the banner turned out. See I wanted as many pictures of Gramps as possible... OLD ones and they got them to me but not until last week!) Then I decorated here (we had it at our house) with all of the other pictures that I didn't use for the banner; I printed all of the pictures (they sent me 60ish plus all the ones I have of him as well) and placed them around the house... I have to note here that it was so CUTE when Gramps came into the house because from the moment he came into the house he was looking at all of the pictures... it took him a good 15 minutes before he (and Gram Cookie) actually set down their things and said hello to everyone. I almost think he was in awe of it all. For dinner I made raspberry chipotle pork over spinach that I have made for Gramps before and he LOVED (this is one thing I have made that he actually goes for 2nds of so it was perfect!) And we had ice cream cake (butter pecan ~ Gramps' favorite); which I decorated the cake (with more pictures).
Banner ~ too bad you cannot see all of the detail... every other picture is black  & white (older then more recent)
We didn't know how to decorate the cake... then I came up with this! I LOVE it!

Goofy bunch!
So here are some pictures that are worth posting (they all are really)... they were either in the banner or decorations BUT super cool. I say super cool because for me they are, not only are they of Gramps but of my old home!!! HISTORY is so cool! Some of these date back to 1928! What a treasure!

That is my old home!
