At least it is slipping away with good, scratch that GREAT/AMAZING memories~
But in all actuality we had a very BIG month with Peanut!
At 7 months Peanut:
- Weights 15 lbs 1 oz (at least she did exactly one week ago for her well baby visit ~ she is in the 25% for height and 50% for both weight and head)
- She is CONSTANTLY smiling and/or giggling
- She got her 1st tooth!!! I realized this last night, it FINALLY broke through!!!!! (it is on the bottom right in the front ~ we (and the Dr.) all thought she was getting them on the top kind of where her eye teeth are)
- Here is a video where I tried to show her tooth but instead got her to do her sign language! Just click play~
- She is talking! She says (with a very cute voice) “Dada” and “Bubba” although recently she has been saying “Bubba” a lot more than “Dada” ~ to me this is something that is kind of bittersweet because it really seems sometimes she is calling for Bubba… she says it over and over until he acknowledges her and comes to her and then she will stop. If he leaves she will do it again. And some mornings the first person she calls for is Bubba ~ I really think she is wanting him because she does know how to call for Dada too! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
- She also is signing! We have recently decided (with the help of our AWESOME sitter, Mary “Mimi”) to start teaching her sign language (just the basics like: milk, eat, more, water, drink, etc…) and she is already catching on! As of yesterday (after only doing it consistently for a little less than a week) she can already sign eat, more and milk!
- She can wave hi and bye ~ and I think sometimes she actually says hi
- She is starting to sleep through the night more and more
- She has tasted “big people food” like pizza, macaroni & cheese, chicken (last night for the 1st time, I gave her little tid-bits); she has also had mashed up pot roast (well not the meat but the carrots and potatoes)
- She is still eating her baby food… slowly moving to big people food ~ she is still in stage 2 food but I am thinking about getting some stage 3 for her soon
- She can feed herself her Mum Mum rice cakes (and she LOVES them)
- She is now drinking 8 oz at a time (although after she eats real food I only give her 6 oz)
- She drinks approximately 8 bottles a day
- She can hold her bottle ~ BUT she is lazy and prefers us to hold it for her; thus we have stopped holding it all the time for her and MAKE her do it (unless she is super tired)
- She wears 6 month clothes; 6-9 month clothes (depending on which ones they are) are still a little too big (some fit and some are way too big). AND she can still fit into some 3-6 month items (but very few)
- She still wears size 2 diapers
- She has started to “grow” her hair back on the back of her head… but she definitely has lost a lot because she had WAY more hair when she was born
- She still isn’t rolling over as much as I think she should… but I guess the key is that she “can” do it
- Her eyes have lightened a little ~ BUT still blue, very blue!
- Her hair is definitely strawberry brown (how Mommy’s was when she was little and actually might lighten a little as the summer months come)
- She wants to go to sleep each night no later than 830pm (she rarely stays up later than that… last night she actually asked for milk so she could go to sleep)
- She can pretty much grab anything you put in front of her. I have started putting pieces of fruit on her tray when she is in the highchair and making her get them – she is doing really well at this
- She isn’t exactly reaching for us yet but she knows and tells us when she wants to be picked up
- She has started (possibly) the start of one separation anxiety stage ~ not good! The other day when I dropped her off at Mary’s she was fine as long as I was holding her, as soon as I handed her off to Mary she started crying and tried turning towards me. Both Mary and I said it was too early for her to act like that ~ but I must say it did make me feel wanted
- She definitely has her own personality and isn’t afraid to yell at you when she doesn’t like something or wants something ~ its kind of cute
- She prefers the color yellow over most all other colors… you put something yellow and the same item in another color in front of her and she will always go for the yellow one
- She sings! Literally! On Monday morning on our drive to Mimi’s/school/work Bubba and I were singing “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” ~ yes we are still singing Christmas songs! And she decided to follow along and was singing her own song in the back… it was SUPER cute!
- She did chores for the first time... actually she helped Mommy sweep the garage!
- One of her favorite things to do is watch football with Daddy SERIOUSLY she does watch football!
- She can almost sit on her own but still a little wobbly
Sorry its hard to see, but believe me it is there!(kind of right where my finger is pointing)
Now on to the most important part of our monthly blogs... PICTURES~
(And remember if you click on the picture it will enlarge)
My pretty little Peanut!
We weren't cooperating this month and instead wanted to get the sign
And of course she got it
Holding her bottle
DISCLAIMER ~ I LOVE LOVE LOVE these next pictures... I wanted to do this when she was 4 days old but she wouldn't have anything to do with it; I finally got to do them, just in time before the wings got too small. I LOVE my little Peanut Butterfly!
She is doing tummy time so well! Still trying to get her legs up under her
YUMMY Pizza!
YUMMY Mum Mums
Bubba taking her for a ride around the kitchen
I love their play! And he made it easier to make dinner by entertaining her
WHAT?!
I love how he snuck into this picture and look he looks so mischievous
Chores with Mommy
Sitting pretty!
He was so excited that they have the same shirt!
One of my favorites
And there is always time to take one of all of us in the mornings ~ look at her goofy face (not that Bubba doesn't have one either... they are goof balls!)
Lots of fun things that happen this month I am excited to see what next month has in store... she is now at the age where she is getting really fun because every single day she learns something new (not that she wasn't fun before but now she is just MORE fun)!

Great blog, I haven't had time to read it until now and I'm glad I did. You have a beautiful family!
