Seriously HOLY CRAP! My baby is ALREADY 8 months old! Where has the time gone?
On one hand it feels like WOW this time has gone quickly, I mean she is ALREADY 8 months but on the other hand it feels like only 8 short months ago our family became complete!
Peanut is really starting to show her real colors, she is SUCH a HAPPY little girl!
Again another big month for this little Peanut!
At 8 months Peanut:
- Has 2 teeth! It took forever for the first to come through but right after the other one became visible
- She weighs around 15 lbs 6 oz (at least she did last week (on Monday) when she got her 2nd flu shot), not too big or not too small, JUST PERFECT!
- Speaking of flu shot, when she got it last week she did not, I repeat DID NOT cry at all! She just looked at our nurse (Ms. Christina) like "what the heck did you just do to me" Bubba was freaking out way more than Peanut did! ~ my trroper! Showed Bubba that shots really aren't that bad! YEAH for lessons learned!
- She is still one of the happiest babies I think I have EVER seen!
- She had her very first ear infection (during the last month) ~ Poor girl, hopefully the last!
- She is a regular talker: she can now say "Dada, Bubba, bye, hi (although sometimes I am not sure she realizes she says either of those) and (drum roll PLEASE) Mama!!!" She also mixes babble in there that actually sounds like words but not completely sure which ones.
- She is still doing sign language, she hasn't learned any new ones from last month but instead when I ask her if she wants "more" she doesn't always do the sign instead she trys to talk to me by trying to say more.
- She shakes her head no... a lot!
- She can wave either hi or bye (but it depends on her mood)
- She is a rolly-polly! She is all over the place going from her back to her stomach and from her stomach to her back ~ YEAH FINALLY!!! We were a little concerned with this because of her PT.
- She LOVES food! All kinds! She still eats baby food but is also eating regular "big people" food as well.
- She drinks 8 oz at a time, probably 7 times a day (depending on what big people food she has had).
- She still wears 6 month clothing but is starting to fit into her 6-9 month clothing (although it is baggy).
- She is still in size 2 diapers.
- Her eyes are still blue... and OMG they are BEAUTIFUL (although I am partial, but we always get compliments on her eyes)
- Her hair is lightening, turning a blondish color.
- Her hair is getting longer and thicker (and growing back where it rubbed off).
- She can hold, grab for and reach for her bottle (its really cute when she wants it because she will reach as far as she possibly can for it)
- She has separation anxiety from Mommy, not every day but she definitely has it when I drop her off at Mary's especially on Mondays.
- She isn't afraid to yell at you when she wants your attention.
- She is VERY nosy! She is constantly trying to see what everyone is doing.
- She still prefers yellow over most other colors.
- I didn't realize it before but she needs her blanket when she goes to bed, the other night we had Auntie Brandi watch the kids and she was overly tired and once I got there (mind you she was crying the whole time) I gave her the blanket we had sent she immediately settled down.
- Last month we were working on sitting and this month she has mastered it! Now we are working on standing.
- She has started to try to get her legs up under her and started to rock. But mainly she just sticks her butt in the air... its really cute.
- She still has the MOST BEAUTIFUL smile and flashes it all the time!
Now on to the most important part of our monthly Princess Peanut blog~ PICTURES!
I must note, these were all taken during the same photo shoot (if you will), I wanted to show you just how much she DOESN'T cooperate! LOL She is so interested in the sign every month she won't leave it alone... here are 10 of like 40 pictures before I got a good one!
Standing so pretty!
FINALLY got a good one with the sign!
Cucumbers for the first time
Seriously! How could you not love that face???
I LOVE how these 2 always include her!
They are so lovable!
Chillin' with Daddy in his new chair
