WARNING: Extremely LONG post with TONS of pictures! Sorry I got a new camera so there are lots and lots of pictures ~ I don't mind so I am sure you won't either.
Where oh where has the time gone? I have been gone for the last week on training for work, I got back today and realized my baby is 9 months old... to top that off, in less than 22 days my other baby will be 4! They are growing up before my eyes and there are some moments I feel like I am missing it and they are slipping past me. It completely boggles my mind that they are getting bigger, smarter and more beautiful every day! BUT then I wake up and realize I am as involved as any hard working (full time working I might add) mom could be. I try to make the best of it!
As for this month, to me its a little bittersweet, I say this because we have been in the presence of this little princess for as long as I carried her. Which in the whole scheme of things really isn't that long! She is really a ray of sunshine on even the darkest day. She is SO completely happy (all of the time) and SO completely loved! I love the joy she brings both Ryan and I but also the joy, happiness (yes they are different), sense of being proud and all out giddiness she brings to our sweet Bubba. He absolutely adores her and she adores him in return. I seriously could not ask for a better relationship between these 2. I just hope as our lives progress and change they will value and savor this relationship because there is nothing sweeter than family!
So on to our Princess Peanut! At 9 months she can/is:
- She weights 16 lbs 13 oz (she did on Monday when Nana and Grandma took her to the Dr.)
- She has 3 almost 4 teeth (if you asked me a week ago I would have definitely said she had 4 teeth but it looks as if the 4th tooth has gone back up, which can be normal)
- She is still one of the happiest babies I have ever seen! She even tries to be in a good mood when she doesn't feel well ~ something most people, let alone a baby can even do!
- She has now had a grand total of 3 ear infections! Oh will these ear issues ever end???? First Bubba and now her~ I had wishful thinking when I posted last month that hopefully the first would be her last :(
- She has a reaction (or intolerance) to Augmentin®, the generic form of amoxicillin... which was NOT pretty!
- She hasn't really learned any new words this month that I can pin-point, she still says "mama, dada, Bubba, hi and bye" the latter two she is saying more and more. I thought for a moment she said done or more but haven't heard it lately.
- She still does her baby sign, just not as often (I think this is because we are also slacking in this area... gotta pick it back up)
- She knows the meaning of "no" and when she doesn't want something she will shake her head no. I am trying to teach her to shake her head yes.
- She can clap and does it all the time
- She LOVES food, all kinds! Mainly she would prefer "big people" food over her baby food but will put up with baby food.
- She LOVES her puffs or mum-mums they are her favorite snack.
- She drinks 8 oz of formula at a time unless she just got done eating real food.
- She is still in size 2 diapers.
- She is slowing getting into her 6-9 month clothes, she still fits into 6 month items.
- I noticed today when I returned from being gone for a week that her hair is getting noticeably longer! I cannot wait until I can do fun things with her hair... shes gonna look SO cute!
- Her eyes are still blue ~ and so beautiful, she smiles through her eyes. Her eyes will tell a story someday, her emotions shine through them. When she is sad or not feeling well or all round in an amazing mood, her eyes tell it first! (I must say that I know she gets this from me, I have been told that my eyes are much the same... but I think her eyes are much MUCH more beautiful!)
- Her hair is very light brown, almost blondish with red highlights (we assumed she would get this since Ry and I both have red highlights)
- When she wants something she tells you! Very loud! She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to tell you about it.
- She still prefers yellow but is turning more towards purple ~ my kind of girl ;)
- Last month I said we would work on standing... we only did that one time. This month we have been focusing on going from a sitting position to laying down and vice versa. PT work!
- Speaking of PT she is doing very well, a little slow on some of her milestones but not too far behind (we are talking behind my like 2 weeks or so, nothing major) ~ this is due to her conditions... we are working on them.
- She went building with Nana for the first time today! And Nana said she loved it, when they went to go into another store and leave her building toy in the car she screamed until they gave it back! (Once I get those pictures from Nana I will post)
- She is still as nosy as ever doing everything she can to see what is going on!
- Peanut got her own room during this last month! And she has been sleeping through the night (so I am told)
- I think (and so does Nana and Grandma) she has allergies :( Poor Peanut!
- Peanut can dance! She rocks to most beats... hehe
- During the last month she went to her 1st hockey game
- She went on a swing for the 1st time at the park and loved it, she was all smiles the whole time!
- She puts up with ANYTHING Bubba sends her way ~ and usually with a smile
