This all came about because our lease is up April 1st on our house... so a month ago we started looking at moving because well, Peanut needs her space too!
We looked, looked and looked some more (only window shopping since our current lease wasn't up and we don't want to break it). And everything we looked for was SUPER EXPENSIVE and we have a hard time paying someone else's mortgage especially when its in the $1200 - $1400 range!
So we thought about it, and we came up with a brilliant plan! STAY WHERE WE ARE! Haha what a concept! I mean it only makes sense, we have a beautiful house, it has a beautiful HUGE back yard, its in a safe neighborhood, we have a GREAT property manager/landlords, it is stable (in a very unstable time, our landlords pay the mortgage), our landlords CARE about the property! Yes its a little small but with a lot of hard work we can pull off something to make it work for our family! But one request to the landlords... paint the master bedroom (it was a mint green). They agreed... what did we get ourselves into?
So instead of using our tax money as a deposit we decided to do something with it that we have been wanting to do FOR A LONG time... we bought new furniture! We got new living room furniture and a new bed frame and mattress for our room! YEAH for new things!
The first major project was painting the master... we will NEVER NEVER NEVER do that again. Next time (if there is a next) we will hire someone! This was such a huge task (I think this is why I got sick... we did this 3 weeks ago). It literally took Ryan and I 18+ hours to paint. But WOW the difference takes your(our) breath away. It is so much brighter and cleaner and it really makes the room feel bigger! YEAH for the 1st project!
Then it was time to move rooms around...
How did we work out the room situation? Well, originally we were going to move our computer into our room (which I was not happy about but Peanut needs her room too!) but that didn't work out (hehe yeah!)... here are the order of things: originally we had Peanut's crib in Bubba's room; we had a full-blown office complete with futon (for Grandma and Grandpa when they visit and Papa when he decides that he doesn't want to go home because Ry and him are playing all night long LOL), this room also housed my crafty crap. And our room was our room (well it also was Peanut's room for the time being ~ she had her playpen in our room). Here is how things changed: futon went into Bubba's room (Grandma LOVES that she is now with him when she visits), that room is now all out STAR WARS! LOVE it! Computer desk stayed in what is now Peanut's room. We bought Peanut the matching dresser for her crib. Crafty crap came into our closet (which by the way is awesome! Ry completely downsized on his clothes got rid of TONS)... YEAH now even though its in a closet I get my own space too! We also got something we haven't had in our room since we lived in Vegas... a TV! Woohoo! Peanut now has her own room (although she does share it with Daddy's computer) and of course it is decked out in butterflies! I love how it turned out, SO girly~ sorry Daddy!
We liked our house before, but we LOVE it now! We have been here already for 2 years and looks like we can stay for awhile longer (until we can purchase our own house again). Because of all the cleaning (spring cleaning happened here in full force... we even sold our old furniture!) it is as if we moved, every room is different than it was before! It feels new again! Got rid of the itch to move! We love it!
Here are some pictures:
Our new bed! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Our new TV and the rest of the room (sort of)
My crafty crap space ~ FINALLY Mama's own space!
New living room furniture ~ LOVE it!
Really opened up the room!
Bubba's room ~ this is still the exact same (except we put the old Star Wars posters on the wall)
Futon got moved into Bubba's room and he got the HUGE new Star Wars picture

Even made "his space" girly lol
That's it! We LOVE the change! Feel free to come and visit and see for yourself because these pictures really don't give the change justice... it feels like a new home!
