A Day of Change ~

WOW! This has been a day! Today was a 1st for everyone!

Me: I went back to work for the 1st time since we had Peanut (ok, it really wasn't the 1st time since I went to work since I have been working since she was 1 week old BUT it was the 1st time I left her for more than a few hours). And of course I was checking on the kiddos every chance I got (poor teachers at the Y must think I am a nervous Mommy because seriously I called 4 or 5 times).

Peanut: 1st time at Mimi's without big brother! 1st time away from Mommy (and/or Daddy/ Bubba) for longer than a couple of hours. I LOVED picking her up because when I walked in she was sound asleep but when I started talking to Mimi (Mary) she woke up with a smile on her face! MELTED MY HEART!!! Then she kept smiling as Mimi explained to me her day. I was feeling the love from my lil' peanut!

 Bubba: 1st day of Preschool!

Ready for his 1st day!
Pic with Mommy ~ he's getting SO big!
Both boys ready for their 1st day ~ I am SO proud!
For me this was a little bittersweet because here I was thinking that he would be a little aprehensive but NO! He didn't care at all and he actually told Ry and I to leave when we dropped him off! Oh the nerve of my little man! He could have humored me more (I guess it was harder for Mommy than for him). He was SO excited! I am a little sad that we have not met his teacher yet but oh well! I got a great note from her stating what he did for the day. She told us that he uses polite words and is extremely helpful at clean up time WAIT one minute!!! Are we talking about the same little boy????? LOL he was helpful during clean up? I can't even get him to listen to me when it is time to clean up, he always wants me to do it! AHHHHH! She also told us that he was a little distracted at lunch time but finished all of his lunch for snack. He enjoyed painting his 10 finger painting (to me this is be BEST part about him going to school (well except the learning part)... he is going to bring home his art work! YEAH something to post on the fridge!) and during his snack time he said to his teacher "I love this place!" she thought it was so cute! Yep that's my kid! I am glad that he used good manners (at least something we are teaching him is paying off). He cannot wait to go back tomorrow!
He is SO big, not my baby anymore! (this is where I almost lost it but held it together)

Playing before they broke into their classes (notice Domi in the background!)
He found her... here is is saying COUSIN DOMI I am here!
Ry: 1st day of college!!!! I am SO proud of my hubby! He is going to college to get a degree! YEAH, he deserves this and I am going to support him 110% He called me after his class laughing and telling me that I did really good! See my dad thought it would be funny to surprise Ry and take the class with him. Boy ever was Ry shocked! My dad played it off that he was bringing a pencil sharpener to Ry as a gift for going to school (lol). Ry actually thought he was kidding but when he called him on the phone and told Ry where he was parked and told him to come meet him Ry thought he was just doing that because he was proud of him for going to school so he was bringing this "pencil sharpener" to him. Then my dad went to reach into his car for a notebook and pen (Ry thinking this was the practical gift for the class) but when he closed his door Ry knew and was shocked. Ry told me that there are some real winners in his class (hehe). He is really excited and is stoked that my dad (as Ry put it, his best friend) is taking his very 1st college class with him. My dad has already claimed that Ry is his lab partner (and from what they told me this other guy who was sitting next to Ry in class was excited because he thought that he could be partners with Ry ~ this guy is retaking the class lol) - Ry is def. one of the more experienced people in the class for the subject so a good grade should come easily to him :)
