In celebration of the 4th this year for the first in a long time we participated in the craziness! We ventured downtown to the psycho crowds for the annual parade; this year my parents were in the parade with the Prescott Area Scottish Clan (or something like that, I can never remember their name). So my mom asked if Bubba could be in the parade with them... I couldn't deny him being in it with them (plus then we didn't have to deal with him running around... ulterior motives I know). He had so much fun... I guess for some of the parade he walked and some he rode on the float. I thought we were going to miss them coming but but we got to the front just in time!
Remember to enlarge pictures just click on them!
He saw me! Some nice man let me scoot in front just to take pictures
Getting ready to get started
Bye Bubba have fun!
Remember the psycho crowds I was telling you about? Well this is just one corner, the entire downtown area was jammed packed like this!!
Waiting for Bubba to come in the parade
After the parade Bubba wanted to participate in the 28th annual Whiskey Row Boot Race! I was so proud that he wanted to do this because I remember doing this as a kid! Granted it was much less crowded and many less kiddos but I was so happy to have him participate, $10 well spent!
Daddy made sure to show him exactly what to do
Getting ready (I could barely see him all the way down there) ~ he is covering his ears (on the right side) he was afraid of the gun
And they're off!
Come on lil man~
He hesitated
I gave him a huge hug
Then for some reason all of them returned to the starting line... that was a 1st (kids have never done that before)
He looks sad but he really wasn't
After that fun-filled day we went home and had our friends the Hartwicks join us for some swimming. Sunday was church and cleaning and managed to get in a family walk which was BEAUTIFUL! The monsoons are here and made the weather so beautiful. After our walk we treated Bubba and Peanut to Popsicles (and some major tickling!)
He was trying to show me his MAD face
His monster face
His goofy face
Goof ball!
Daddy got him pinned
Poor Peanut got scratched by the kitty
Now today we did a little shopping (Fry's has awesome sales on everything ~ too bad we didn't get paid this week and could have done our big shopping), ate an awesome lunch (as a family outside), we are going to go swimming (as soon as Peanut gets up from her nap ~ on a side note... Peanut has been the grumpiest I have ever seen her! She is seriously being a butt head! Hope she snaps out of it!), then later tonight we are going over to the Hartwick's house for a bbq and to watch the fireworks!
HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!
